Hello, I’m Calen Fennel. I’m a Thunder Bay local and have been participating in local sports and fitness events for a long time. I grew up playing football in the Thunder Bay Minor Football Association and for Patrick High School.
I was later honoured to receive an athletic/academic scholarship to play for the Royal Imperial Collegiate of Canada. During this time, we traveled all over the United States playing top-ranked American teams. This led to various scholarship offers from NCAA and USports Universities.
I was able to finish my career in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I had the honor of playing for St. Francis Xavier University before graduating with a degree in Kinesiology. I’ve played a variety of positions on “both sides of the ball”, assisted coaching, and trained in camps all over the continent.
I obviously have a lot of sports training experience, but I also help clients with strength and fitness training. I’ve even successfully competed in local competitions like “Thunder Bay Classic” and “Thunder Bay’s Strongest Man.” I can also offer guidance with weight loss, muscle gain, sports performance, and more.
One of the reasons I became a fitness trainer was because the Thunder Bay community has been so supportive of my journey, which is why I love giving back by helping clients become the best version of themselves. I recently made the decision to continue my education and became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and a Specialist in Sports Nutrition.
